Vinopolis to expand with opening of Italian restaurant

Del Mercato, which means ‘of the market’ in Italian, will be fronted by renowned London restaurateur Claudio Pulze and is set to open in February 2012.

Plans reveal it will incorporate three different dining areas as well as a private dining room and will have an "unusual" design taking inspiration from Milan and Rome.

"This restaurant is all about high quality Italian food. There won’t be any molecular gastronomy or anything like that – just fantastic, traditional Italian fare," said Pulze.

Vinopolis managing director Samantha Cox added: "We’re very excited about the launch of Del Mercato, which promises to bring great Italian cuisine and a fantastic dining experience to Vinopolis. With its three unique areas and an exclusive private dining room, this will be the ideal venue, whether you’re looking to host an event, corporate party, or something more intimate."

Vinopolis already has seven distinct event spaces, catering for up to 1,250 guests.
