The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has brought in brand experience agency Sledge to work on a new campaign that aims to boost British manufacturing.

Sledge will work alongside communications consultancy Kindred on the ‘Make it in Great Britain’ initiative, which aims to transform the image of modern manufacturing amongst the general public, investors and young people.

Sledge will create a six-week exhibition showcasing the best of modern British manufacturing, which will take place at the Science Museum during the London Olympics.

Kindred will deliver a national PR programme, focusing on stakeholder relations, consumer and B2B communications.

Sledge client services director Laura Capell and Kindred director Anastasia Scott will lead on the campaign.

Capell said the project is an opportunity to "work collaboratively" with other agencies and deliver something that we will benefit the UK economy.

"We’re working with some great companies and finding out first hand just how cutting-edge manufacturing in this country can be, and we’re looking forward to demonstrating this to a wider national and international audience," she said.
