A gay party company is using crowdfunding to raise £20,000 so that it can provide parties for same-sex couples set to tie the knot.

Gay Nights UK is seeking investment to fund its so-called ‘hag party’ concept through crowdfunding platform Seedrs. It is offering 10% equity of the company for £20,000. Potential investors can pay out £10 or more.

The company claims to be the only stag and hen party agency exclusively for gay men and women, and organises packages in 12 cities in the UK for celebrations such as civil partnerships.

Same-sex marriages could be legalised before the next election in 2015, and Gay Nights UK founder Barry Kent hopes to capitalise on the potential boost to the ‘hag party’ market.

He said: "Our hag parties are totally unique in the UK market - we hope they’ll become as popular as stag and hen parties this year."

The company's packages include a dance diva party, a night on a converted London bus, weekends with male strippers The Dreamboys, a zombie bootcamp and recording studio sessions.

Would the legalisation of gay marriage boost the party market? Comment below and let us know what you think.
